Every public school has a school board.

Contact your child's school for information about elections for your school board.

The head of the school participates in the board meetings without the right to vote. He or she is the secretary of the school board.

Your child's school can tell you more about elections for the school board.

Examples of areas where the school board has influence:

    • The composition of the class
    • Organization of the teaching etc.
    • Parental cooperation
    • Supervision of the tuition
    • Common events during school hours

For instance, the school board approves the school's budget and rules of order.

At least once a year, the school board calls the parents to a joint meeting to discuss the management of the school board's annual report.
