Teach your child to get to school and back safely
Most children in Denmark cycle or walk to and from school. When your child starts school, they also become a road-user.
It is healthy for your child to walk or cycle to school. At the same time, they gradually become more independent in traffic. Many schools have a school safety patrol that helps stop the traffic on roads close to the school so that children may cross the road.
Lots of schools have a transport policy. The school may, for example, recommend where you as a car driver can drop off your child to keep things safe for road users of all ages.
Read more about safe school routes on your child’s school website.
