Taking care of your teeth
In Denmark, being over 18 dental care is at your own expense. Children receive free dental care.
Dental care (tandpleje) for children and young people (0-21 years of age)
You can get free dental care for your child from birth when your child has a CPR number.
Going to the dentist (adults)
If you are born in 2004 or thereafter you will get free dental care at the municipal dental clinics (Tandplejen) until you reach the age of 22. If you are born in 2003 or earlier this applies until you turn 18. Hereafter you pay for dental treatment yourself at a private dentist.
Emergency dental care (Tandlægevagten)
If you get a toothache or minor tooth damage outside your dentist's normal opening hours, you can contact the out-of-hours dental service (Tandlægevagten) in Aarhus.
