When does the school health visitor see your child?
The school health visitor focuses on children's health and wellbeing. Your child sees the school health visitor for the first time for an induction interview and for the last time when your child leaves school.
Your child is called in by the school health visitor at the following intervals
Please note that the numbers below indicate the grades in the Danish school system.
- Grade 0: Your child will be measured, weighed, and have their eye vision and hearing tested. There will be a conversation about how your child is thriving. It is important that you as a parent participate
- Grade 1: Your child will be measured and weighed
- Grade 3: Your child will be measured and weighed. There will be a group conversation about well-being, illness, divorce, and alcohol problems in the family.
- Grade 4-5: Puberty education, healthy lifestyle, well-being, and bullying
- Grade 6: Your child will have a health interview, and will be measured, weighed, and visually tested
- Grade 8: Sex education
- Grade 9: School interview, measured, weighed and hearing tested
