Approval and pedagogical supervision
The Placement Service must approve your private placement agreement (privat pasningsordning) and the home where your child is cared for.
Approval and pedagogic supervision are crucial to ensure the private childminder's personal qualifications and the suitability of the physical environment for childcare, thereby guaranteeing the quality of care for your child.
The private childminder must meet these requirements:
- They must be at least 17 years old.
- They must be able to speak Danish.
- They must have a work and residence permit.
- Must have completed a valid first aid course (first aid for adults with special responsibility for children of 7 hours. The course must be renewed with a shorter refresher every second year).
Therefore, employing an au pair and receiving a subsidy is impossible.
A consultant from Children and Youth (Børn og Unge) plays a key role in handling approval and pedagogical supervision. Their involvement provides parents with confidence in the oversight of the childminder.
Pedagogical supervision is a comprehensive process that can be either an announced or an unannounced visit. The thoroughness of this process, even when you, as a parent, are not at home, ensures your children's safety and well-being.
