    If volunteering is not the main purpose of your stay in Denmark

    If voluntary work is not your main purpose, you do not need a work permit. However, please note that voluntary work must not replace paid employment and must have a genuine non-profit purpose.

    Please be aware that if your main purpose of coming to Denmark is to become a volunteer carrying out unpaid work of a social or humanitarian character you must obtain a residence permit or an EU residence document.
