By casting your vote in the local election, you get to influence the future of Aarhus and take ownership of the municipality you live in.

You will get a great insight into the municipal election before two internationals briefly share their view on the internationalization of Aarhus.

Afterwards, you get to have a direct dialogue with city council candidates.

All the political parties running for the city council have been invited.

We look forward to seeing you!

Who can vote?

You must have attained the age of 18 years and be a resident of the local authority area (municipality) to be eligible to vote in the election to the local city council. Also, you must either:

  • Be a Danish citizen, or
  • Be a citizen of one of the other EU member states, Iceland or Norway, or
  • Be a citizen from outside the EU, Iceland and Norway and have resided in Denmark four years prior to election day

If you meet to criteria mentioned above, you are automatically included in the electoral register in the municipality where they are registered to live according to the CPR register. You do not need to register to vote.

EU citizens who are not yet registered with a CPR number need to be enrolled in the electoral register upon application.
